Hello, I'm Marie the founder of A Level Psychology Tutor.
I'm the founder of A Level Psychology Tutor, current Head of Psychology at one of the UK's highest-performing state schools and a former A Level Psychology examiner.
For more than a decade, I've specialised in teaching AQA A Level Psychology. During that time I've taught hundreds of students in the classroom, supported thousands more through my online resources and built a teaching system that helps students understand not only what they need to learn, but how to succeed.
I don't just teach Psychology. I teach students how to study Psychology.
I believe that achieving top grades isn't about spending the most hours revising. It's about understanding what examiners are looking for, recognising patterns across the specification and developing the confidence to apply knowledge effectively in the exam. Every lesson, resource and video I create is built around that philosophy.
My career has taken me through a range of educational settings, including leading Psychology departments in both independent and state schools, teaching internationally in Bangkok and previously working in higher education marketing. Alongside my teaching, I have published articles in Psychology Review, spoken at national Psychology conferences and continue to work closely with teachers and students across the UK.
Outside the classroom I'm naturally curious. Whether I'm reading about neuroscience, exploring new places or developing resources for students, I genuinely enjoy learning and believe that curiosity is one of the most important qualities a psychologist can have.
Above all, I love helping students realise they are capable of far more than they thought possible. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grow in confidence, enjoy Psychology and achieve results they once believed were out of reach.
About A Level Psychology Tutor
A Level Psychology Tutor was founded in 2022 with a simple aim: to provide AQA A Level Psychology students with the kind of high-quality teaching and resources that are rarely available outside the classroom.
What began as a small project alongside my teaching has grown into one of the UK's leading specialist Psychology platforms. Today, thousands of students use the website for tutoring, revision resources, free study materials and university preparation.
Everything on this website has been created using the same structured teaching approach that I use every day with my own students. Rather than simply providing notes, the focus is on helping students understand how to learn Psychology effectively, develop strong exam technique and become confident, independent learners.
The website now offers far more than private tuition. In 2025, 45% of Marie's own students achieved an A* in A Level Psychology. While every student's journey is different, the aim remains the same: to provide structured, evidence-informed teaching that gives every student the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
